Privacy policy
Last updated October 28, 2026
Jotem is made by BrewingStack Technologies Inc. (“we”), a company based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This policy explains what Jotem collects, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Name and email address, from Sign in with Apple, Google or email | To create your account and show your name to your household |
| Tasks, notes, subtasks, lists, list items, locations you type and repeat settings | To show them on your devices and your household members’ devices |
| Photos you attach to a task (one per task) | To show them to your household |
| Household membership and invite codes | To share your household with the people you invite |
| Events from calendars you choose to share with your household: title, date, time and location (never notes or attendees) | To show those events to your household. Only if you turn on Share with household for that calendar |
| An account identifier and basic technical logs (time, error messages) | To keep the service secure and working |
What stays on your phone
- Calendar events. If you allow calendar access, Jotem reads events from the calendars on your phone (such as Apple Calendar or a Google account added to your phone) to show them next to your tasks. Jotem never changes your calendars and doesn’t connect to your Google account. Events stay on your phone unless you turn on Share with household for a calendar; then that calendar’s upcoming events (title, date, time, location) are uploaded so your household can see them. Turn it off and they’re removed. Shared events are deleted 30 days after they end.
- Display settings such as theme, maps app and date format.
Who can see your data
- Your household. Everyone in your household can see and edit its tasks, lists and photos.
- Service providers that run Jotem for us: Supabase (database, sign-in, file storage) and Vercel (this website). They process data only on our instructions.
- Sign-in providers. If you use Sign in with Apple or Google, they confirm who you are; we receive your name and email (or Apple’s private relay address).
- Legal requests. We’ll disclose data only when the law requires it.
We don’t sell or rent personal information, and Jotem 1.0 contains no advertising or analytics trackers.
Where data is stored
Data is stored with our providers in data centres that may be outside your country, including the United States. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account exists. Items you delete are removed from the app straight away and permanently deleted from our systems within 30 days. When you delete your account, your profile is deleted; if you were the last member of your household, its tasks, lists and photos are deleted too.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account in Jotem: Settings → Account → Delete account.
- Export your data in Jotem: Settings → Export.
- Stop sharing a calendar in Jotem: Settings → Integrations. Stop calendar access any time in your phone’s settings.
- Depending on where you live (for example under Canada’s PIPEDA, the EU/UK GDPR, India’s DPDP Act or US state laws), you may have rights to access, correct or delete your data, or to object to processing. Email us to use them.
Children
Jotem is meant for adults managing a household and isn’t directed to children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we’ll tell you in the app before it takes effect.
